The Spirit of Elvis

The Spirit of Elvis was taking a break in a rest stop along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi.  It had been to a car show in Tupelo, MS that weekend.

The owner could have been Elvis himself.
I wish I had a picture of him.

Mississippi - Part Twelve (yes, twelve) - Vicksburg - Baer House - Scarlett

Probably more of a ladies' post, but here's a glimpse of our room at Baer House in
Vicksburg, Mississippi.

"Scarlett" was the name of our room at Baer House.
It was very comfortable with all the necessities.

A pretty pink bathroom.
My husband said it was fine.
I'm sure he was thinking "don't get any ideas for home".
No worries, I'm not a pink person.

Just in case you're in the market for a bed and breakfast in Vicksburg, Mississippi,

I recommend Baer House.

("twelve" is a strange word, isn't it?)

Hungry?

There's nothing like a good burger.

When you're nineteen you can eat two.

Truly Rural This and That

We are not farmers and I don't want to give that impression at all.

Even though I can not speak from experience, I know that farming is a lot of hard work.

We live in a rural setting, yet in the city limits of a tiny town.
My husband has a small garden every year.

A farmer rents property surrounding our home.

I have a tomato plant in a washtub.

There are deer, coyotes, weasels in the barn, cats in the barn, gophers in the barn . . .

. . . and another yard animal that a friend made for me.
You couldn't get away with having this in a sub-division.

My signature coffee cup goes with me outside.
You have seen it before and probably will see it again.

Swampy

A stop along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi between Jackson and Tupelo.

We didn't walk the trail so no magic for us.

These shots do not do justice to the area.  It was very peaceful and very beautiful.
Thank goodness for the bridge.
