Trail of Tears

Word on the street is that tens of thousands of bikers ride in the Trail of Tears commemorative bike ride held the third weekend of September each year.

I drove to a nearby parking lot after realizing I could hear the thunder.

I almost missed them.  I was there about three minutes before the Alabama State Trooper came along which I believe signaled the end of the masses.

They go through en masse for 30 to 45 minutes around noon, however, there are stragglers both before and after all day long.

When you aren't a biker, they kinda start to look the same.

Thanks for sharing the photos. Looks like they have a lovely day for riding. We have two bikers in our neighborhood and they are always comparing bikes, extras, etc. As you say, they all look the same to me!

Hmmm. Some have three wheels, others two. Some have three headlights, others have one. Some are waving, others aren't. . .wait, that's not the bike. I agree: they do kind of all look the same. This must have been very loud. Bikers seem to like that.

Nothing like the sound of a 'hog,' (Harley)... love these shots, they all look like they're enjoying themselves! Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #48!

There's a Trail of Tears State Park in Cape Girardeau, Mo about 90 miles east of where I live here in SeMo, but I've never been there... I'm going to have to put it on my list of places to visit!

I tend to agree they sometimes all look the same but that red one with what looks like a treasure chest on back is intriguing.
Great shots Amy!

I'm glad you were able to photograph this for us. They certainly make a statement! Bet it was really loud, too.

Great collection of photos.

Since I met the folks in the CBA (Christian Bikers Association) here I have learned that while some of these bikers are a rough looking lot they have a heart of gold. Our local group is involved in so many charitable events behind the scenes.
