Nature buffs, please correct me if I'm wrong.  I believe this is a Zebra Longwing.

Wish I could have caught this guy in something other than bright sunlight.

Eat your leafy greens

He thought he was fooling me

but I had already caught him in the act.
Only a few stems were down to a nub.

Here she is, Miss . . .

 . . .  American Summer Sandwich.

Seeing a few tomato sandwiches, (a.k.a., mater sammich) on blogs the past few days, I remembered this photo from a couple of years ago.
Although this one is on wheat bread, the right way is with good ole' white bread.
We can eat healthier wheat bread the rest of the year.

Mater Sammich Done Right

One 3/4 inch thick, bread sized mater slice, cut from the center of the mater
Two slices Sunbeam Old Fashioned bread
Lots of Kraft Mayo - not low fat, Olive Oil, or otherwise
Absolutely NO substitutions, including, heaven forbid, Hellman's or any "salad dressing"
Copious amounts of salt and pepper
Two or three napkins

Eat it.

Green ice

More spring dew from a few years ago.
I don't remember what this plant is, but I do remember that on this morning my husband came in and said I should bring the camera out because the dew was revealing hundreds of tiny spider webs in the grass.  The spider webs didn't turn out well, but I got some other good ones and they deserve another look.

Red ice

Dew on a young stem of a Knock Out Rose bush.
I'm resurrecting some things from the early days of my blog, back before anyone visited. :)
I like some of my photos from back then more than my recent ones.

Patiently waiting

Both abandoned, a wild rose bush and its home wait patiently for someone to fix them up. Somewhere in Lincoln County, Tennessee in 2012

Clowns are scary

. . . and so are these Santa mugs.

In the eye of a spider

See me?  There in the eyes?

The end.

Summertime

Maybe not so much the fries, but a grilled hot dog and relish mean summertime to me.

Looks nice, doesn't it?
Summer also means that soon the heat and humidity will prevent me from enjoying it.

Golden

North Alabama wheat is now golden.

Raking comes next

I tend to take the same photos over and over.  This same shot was taken a few years ago.  The farmer always parks at this same spot.

Ugly? Maybe.

There are several wheels in my collection of farm equipment photos.
The farm equipment photo supply will be exhausted soon and I'll move on to something else.

Making furrows

I believe this makes furrows for planting cotton.  There are multiple sets of these on the planter.
